Type: | Suggestion | Severity: | Minor | Status: | New | Status Comment: | | Title: | Keyboard interface. | Version: | 1.1.1 | Description: | It has been said that because UBoot is not designed as a normal interface to the user and can be used over serial then things such a history buffer and being able to pause display are not needed.
However, we use UBoot at the keyboard, with a normnal bootup and VGA output. I suggest that UBoot keep a history buffer, make use of "up cursor" instead of printing funny characters and saying things like INTERRUPT. :-? Command tab completion could also be useful. A simple mouse cursor and "scroll bar" would also make UBoot more shell like. Perhaps like the OS4 minishell? ;-)
Some router telnet interfaces are easy to use and put UBoot to shame! It could take an example from routers with a good CLI. | Created: | 20081015 15:24 by hypex | Assigned: | 19700101 01:00 to | Fixed: | 19700101 01:00 by | Closed: | 19700101 01:00 by | Comments: | 0 |
