Odyssey crash if MUI is not availible

I found a very curious crash in Odyssey 1.23, it happen if you try to start it when MUI are not installed, but it may happen even if the debug copy are you using are expired

At first OWB will complain about the missing of MUI, but then it crash badly instead to just close it transparently

Proxy Server bug in username field

The problem is that when I enter to use a Proxy Server from the Preferences menu in OWB 1.23, and type my username and password, after a while the username changes to my password, thus both username and password fields have my password!

MediaPlayer trashing memory and then crash/freeze

While streaming an audio with Odyssey, the browser apparently still continue to step by step consume s the availible memory until it will crash or freeze altogheter, atleast when the memory turned to be too law

I was hearing a soccer match from my preferred Radio, but more or less after 40/45 minutes of stream i will be forced to reboot because OWB consumed pratically all my Ram, this is happen also if i have only OWB opened and nothing else ..

I have 1GB of Ram so i cam stream for some time, however at the end a reboot is always required

Change in behaviour of "Add Bookmarks"

The behaviour of "Add Bookmarks" either through the button next to the URL gadget or the menu "Bookmarks-->Add Bookmark" has changed since earlier versions of Odyssey. In previous versions, when a bookmark was added, it would appear in the list of bookmarks at the point the cursor was. As of v 1.23, bookmarks appears at the bottom of the list, regardless of the cursor position. Would it be possible to change this back? It is a nuisance to then drag a bookmark to where you want it.

I've logged this as a suggestion rather than a bug. However, I don't think kas1e has noticed the functionality changed, so if he's not aware it could actually be a bug.

Disabling video and audio loading/playing

More and more Internet pages have video and/or audio advertisements or features that are very annoying when you just want to read the text on the page or shop for stuff. We can already disable image loading and JavaScript but we need menu items to disable video and audio (preferably for a particular tab or window). Please add menu items to disable audio and video; even if it has to be global for all tabs.

Zoom cursor not always showed

If you click with the left mouse button in order to open an external popup window (that contain an image) for example this one:

The auto-resized image opened inside the window doesn't show the relative zoom cursor, zoom functionality works fine as you click into, but "zoom cursor" in this case will not be showed as expected ..

I think it's a little bug

Missing directional arrows (MMB)

When we press the middle mouse button (to scroll in a page) we doesn't have the corresponding directional arrows if while scrolling we move our mouse into another direction,

Actually we have only the main mouse pointer anytime and everywhere

In an ideal world It should be done like OWB 3.32 from Joerg

Crash in iconifed state

Sometimes (for no apparent reason it seems) Odyssey 1.23 will crash when in iconifed state, an example to explain you how and in what situation it might happen:

1 - Open 2 or 3 tabs with some usual websites (let's say Amiga.org, Amigaworld.net and Amigans.net)
2 - Iconify OWB
3 - Start doing somethings else on your Amiga, f.e. playing music, watch a video and so on
--> At some point, (minutes, hour ?) a DSI crash in Odyssey appear

Another crash on YouTube page

As some dropdown menus will NOT be really closed I did some simple stability test to see how they react in some unusual situation, so i just opened the 2 dropdown menus (the urlhistory window and the quicksearch one) of Odyssey, then i iconified OWB.

When i deiconify the program both dropdowns menu will be automatically reopened.

A this point i just tried to move and/or resized the OWB window around the screen.

At this condition most of the time the dropdown menu will followed the new position and the new size of the program's window, HOWEVER at some point a problem heppen --> see grab: https://muidev.de/attachment/ticket/19/glitch.png

I don't understand exactly how to reproduce it but if you try with this method you should be able to reproduce it quite easily at some point

Finally when this graphical glitch happen, just try to close OWB normally, if all "goes well" you should be able to obtain that type of crashes:

From time to time i can reproduce this type of crash (often) when Odyssey are loading somethings in background, for example when it is iconificated

All that crashes are not skippable, that means that if i ignore it then i got an ISI crash and i need to reboot

Can't open images from javascript

Strange problem when you trying to open an image from Javascript -->

You can reproduce the issue on Amigans.net and other similar portals, for example on your recent message at:

If you click on the embedded image (with LMB) a new tab will be opened and the image will be displayed normally, BUT if you try to click AGAIN into it --> then a new tab will be opened but the embedded image will NOT be loaded ! --> only a blank page ..

The issue is reproducible in both OWB 1.9 and OWB 1.16

AmigaOS fonts implementation

As FontConfig based fonts are always a bit buggy and in case Joerg is availible for help it could be nice to backport his native fonts trying to reimplement them into our current Odyssey Web Browser

If i remember correctly he used a shared object for that: libowbfont.so

New OS4Depot quick search gadget doesn't seem to work

In 1.16, new quick search with OS4Depot was introduced
(beside Google, Aminet, Morphos and YouTube) .

Does it work ?

When I search something it goes to the generic search webpage.

Briefly, this url doesn't give SysMon result.
