I don't know if this is related but it really looks like it.

I get a reproduceable libxul.so crash albeit the crashlog is different, but maybe if you can squish this one the other one might go away as well?

Here is the crashlog

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Timberwolf
2. Surf to a forum (i.e. hyperion-entertainment.biz)
3. Enter a forum (any)

4. Press SHIFT and hold it pressed while clicking on the BACK button
(a new instance/window of TW will open with the expected site)

5. CLOSE this new opened window when all the loading has been done

TW will crash after some seconds in libxul.so so badly that only GR is able to bring up it's window.
After three or so more clicks ANYWHERE on the workbench or on buttons of other programs (even on buttons of GR), the system will go down. (I wasn't able to save the second GR log because of the system being already down, but i could read it and see that the crash was exactly the same)

This is on a 512 MB RAM AOne-XE

This can be closed from my side.

It´s a problem of an add-on and as such has nothing to do with the TW main program.

If i can corner the add-on that does this, i will open a new item

Solved! Is just an issue with the RAONDOM device.

Issue: Bookmarks don't work at all (on SFS/0 anyway)

I discovered that I'd forgotten that I'd removed the RANDOM device from Sys:Devs/DosDrivers (for testing purposes). Having restored this, I now have bookmarks in TimberWolf RC3! :-)

So it seems that the only bug in RC3 is that (contrary to documentation) it still needs the RANDOM device.

On an sfs/o2 partition, only the first bookmarked saved shows up on the next session.

Issue: opening Timberwolf after booting A1

This bug is still around with RC3 running on an sfs/02 partition.
The first time I open TW it opens fine, if I close and re-open it I get a GR.
If I open the AppDir/Timberwolf-bin file and re-save it, before re-opening Timberwolf TW opens fine.

This would be some conflict with reading/writing the AppDir filefrom within TW, and although I am not a programmer, it might be realatively easy to fix.

I knew about that on Windows systems, where Alt Gr counts as Alt + Ctrl. On Amiga systems though I thought they behave the same when it comes to producing alternative characters. Try Notepad, an AmigaShell, an ASL-Requester, the 'Rename'-dialog or any other input-dialog: you can use either alt key + a to generate the character æ, or +e for the euro symbol, as an example...

About the meta keys: you mean the amiga-keys, right?

A few remarks:

Alt keys are not the same. The left Alt key is "Alt", the right one is "Alt Gr". The latter one is used to generate alternative symbols

The alt keys are basically mapped as Meta key on some systems, as alt on others, and on some systems, they don't even exist. As such, there's IMHO no rule to follow.

The database format changed due to the move to a WAL-enabled sqlite. Since that caused the major speed drops, I am reverting to non-WAL and working around the problem that WAL was supposed to fix

Worked fine with latest version, it was only a problem with large font that hide the other contents, now using a "native" font all turn ok :-)

after replacing the files it's better.
it then again crashes at exit it seems and goes up to 100% load.
but at least loads.

Did the program terminate correctly ? For me, TW sometimes does not terminate completely (it deletes all windows but the task sticks around). This is a general bug that has been in the Windows version of Firefox as well, and not related to TW direclty.

See discussion on amigans.net... Seems to be related to either new cairo/pixman or sqlite. Using the files from the previous version fixes it.

Please try first replacing libpixman/libcairo, and see if it work better then.

Also, open the Error Console (Tools menu, or start with timberwolf -jsconsole) and see if there's any error when you load the page (first, clear the log by clicking clear in the Error Console window, then load ImagsShack and try to uload).
