At this time YAM executes Rexx/GotoURL.yam script. I updated this script to run OWB.

There was morphos related code which handle build of accept-language header, and on os4 it just fail. So aos4 version done now, and it works. It also support more languages that morphos (~50 in compare with about ~15)

Issue: URLopen support

Saying "it do not works at all" , only show that someone didn't try to get how urlopen and openurl works.

Inbuild urlopen in os4 didn't have needs to be "specially added" , it works if your app can handle incoming options. Check prefs:url to see how it setuped for other browsers, add odyssey and create same as for owb.

OpenURL instead works with arexx, and if you want to use arexx then you can use them too.

In other words, both works already and can be used.

Fixed in v1.23

As some dropdown menus will NOT be really closed I did some simple stability test to see how they react in some unusual situation, so i just opened the 2 dropdown menus (the urlhistory window and the quicksearch one) of Odyssey, then i iconified OWB.

When i deiconify the program both dropdowns menu will be automatically reopened.

A this point i just tried to move and/or resized the OWB window around the screen.

At this condition most of the time the dropdown menu will followed the new position and the new size of the program's window, HOWEVER at some point a problem heppen --> see grab: https://muidev.de/attachment/ticket/19/glitch.png

I don't understand exactly how to reproduce it but if you try with this method you should be able to reproduce it quite easily at some point

Finally when this graphical glitch happen, just try to close OWB normally, if all "goes well" you should be able to obtain that type of crashes:

It is strange, because i running right now for tests 1.16 version, choice osdepot in quicksearch, type there "sysmon" and it find for me and sysmon and sysmon_eil files. The search string for os4depot in the Window/Search Engines and it looks like this:

After some weeks of deep testing i conclude that this type of crash is mostly related to the video streaming using OWB 1.16, and mostly reproducible if you try to stream a very long video (20 minutes or so)

For streaming my video in OWB prefs i set this --> c:getvideo "%l" play

Keep note that the same problem happen with AmiYouP script and its related streaming site

So probably the issue is not strictly related to OWB but in a way or anothed is related to the bsdsocket + the latest LibCURL used in OWB 1.16 ..

No problem with MUI OWB 1.9

After some experimenting and input from other I have found a reliable way to re-produce this bug.
Turns out it's not specifically related to switching screens but is instead related to using the window boarder or screen gadgets.

Use the context menu to either copy the link or download the readme.
Then click on a window gadget and hold the left mouse button down and drag.
The system will lock up. Notice that part of the text from the link that was downloaded or copied appears highlighted under the mouse curser.

Aniway a bit OT but now you said "code open for everyone" but for now i can only see an archive for the original MorphOS's source ...

Ok we know that Fab doesn't like to work with a repository nor to merge the code with others, but once that code will be modificated by you for our OS4 port (and eventually later by AROS developers too) is there planned any public repository for that already modified sources ?

If not how others can join the project or cooperate with you ?

I already ask it before (even before 1.16 release), and if explain joerg's answer in few words, it mean "very hard, very boring, and pretty time consuming. making of native fonts for ra-owb was one of the hardest parts". So, if it was hard for him, then for me it will be unpossible at all. If someone will do it (code open for everyone now), then i can put it to os4 release with no problems.

Issue: System locks up when switching screens after download

I did some more experimenting

I dissabled all programs that run from workbench startup and still observed the same problem of total system lockup when switching screens with the screen to back gadget.

I then remembered that I was running my workbench screen in 1920x1080 16bit and Odessy in a 1920x1080 32 bit screen, so I switched my workbench to a 1920x1080 32bit screen. The problem thenbecame much less re-producable. I could usually switch back and forth between the screens several times before a lockup would occur. If I click on the screen to back buttons several time rapidly I could still get it to lock up. On occassion, even clicking it once would lock things but but it wasn't nearly as repeatable with the screens modes both set to 32but.

On a couple of occassions I didn't get it to lock up when switching screens but then when I clicked the Odyssey close window gadget it locked up.

Also note that I can use the Amiga-N or Amiga-M keys to switch screens as rapidly as possible and it never locks up.

I'm suspecting there is a timing related issue and it might not be an Odyssey issue but I have only had the problem in Odyssey and only after downloading a file.

I wonder if someone else with and X1000 could try reproducing the problem?
