i now restored the bookmarks with RC1 and exported them as HTML file.
but RC2 cannot import them. it just does nothing after i select the html file :-(

The database format changed due to the move to a WAL-enabled sqlite. Since that caused the major speed drops, I am reverting to non-WAL and working around the problem that WAL was supposed to fix
