Raziel | Slow? | 20090620 00:58 | | I think the scrolling is quite ok, given that the site suffers from a huge amount of pictures...
Maybe you need to wait for the site to completely finish loading, before you scroll?

joerg | Slow scrolling | 20090620 17:30 | | The scrolling are still slow on a few sites, i.e. http://www.aftonbladet.se/ ... |
| The site itself makes it slow, for example by moving the ads at the right side up/down to always stay visible, but at least here scrolling on that page is faster with the AmigaOS 4.x OWB than with FireFox on the same hardware.
With which browser did you compare the scrolling speed of OWB on that page?

I know that the site is huge but I've seen those ads moving up/down by scrolling on other sites without any slowdowns, ie http://www.tv.nu/ ... I've seen the slowdown happening on other sites as well... the ign.com site seems to have this problem, http://wii.ign.com/ for example...
I don't use Linux on my A1 at the moment so I can't compare with Firefox on the same hardware at the moment... however sites that seems to be as complex as these two scrolls really fast with OWB...
I know that it doesn't matter that the scrolling is fast on my PC with any browser (firefox, opera, ie, chrome)...

| There are several possibilities why scrolling can be slowed down a lot or, like on http://wii.ign.com/, even be made impossible by the contents of a page. On http://wii.ign.com/ it's the fixed position background image, because of it a browser can't scroll the page (move the current contents up, down, left or right and only render the very small, newly visible part) but has to rerender the complete page instead, which of course takes much longer.
I know that it doesn't matter that the scrolling is fast on my PC with any browser (firefox, opera, ie, chrome)... |
| It's exactely the same on your PC with all browsers and for example scrolling on http://wii.ign.com/ has to be done the same way as in OWB, it has to rerender the complete page and that's much slower than scrolling on most other pages, unlike the A1 your PC is just too fast to notice it.
Since there is nothing OWB specific in your examples, scrolling on them is slow with any browser because of the page contents, I'm closing the bug.
